Turning the assessment into a routine

A legionella risk assessment usually leads to a written scheme: the checks that keep the risk under control, how often they’re done, and what’s recorded. The checks only work if they happen every time, and the records are what show they did.

We can take on some or all of those checks for you. Depending on what your scheme requires, that might include:

• Temperature checks at sentinel outlets, water heaters and cylinders
• Flushing outlets that are used infrequently
• Cleaning and descaling shower heads and hoses
• Inspecting cold water storage tanks
• Keeping the log of what was done, when and by whom

We’ll confirm in writing exactly which tasks are included for your site and how often, before we start.

Why records matter

• Each check recorded with the date, the result and who did it
• Anything out of range reported to you straight away, with what to do about it
• Records kept with your site’s other compliance certificates and reports

Reports are available in your online account alongside your other certificates.

Seasonal and little-used buildings

Holiday lets, caravans, seasonal sites and buildings left empty for a time carry a higher risk, because water stands still in the pipes. Checks before reopening, and while the building is quiet, matter more there than anywhere.
