What was needed
Cables passed through the fire-resisting wall of a commercial server room, and the cabling was expected to change over time as equipment was added and replaced.
What we did
Our engineers fitted a Hilti fire sleeve system around the cable penetrations, using third-party certified products installed to the manufacturer’s tested details.
Products and materials
Hilti fire sleeves
The result
The wall’s fire resistance is restored around the cables, and cables can be added or removed later without redoing the fire stopping.
More of our work

Intumescent coating on structural steel
Main support steelwork coated with intumescent paint to provide the fire protection the building required.

Filling a void left by a removed service pipe
A large void, left when a redundant pipe was stripped out, filled to reinstate the wall’s fire protection.

Sealing around ductwork through a compartment wall
Fire batt used to seal the void around circular HVAC ductwork passing between building compartments.
